    About The Mechanical Engineering Department

    The Mechanical Engineering Department was established in the year 1958 with an intake capacity of 30 students per year. Later on the sanctioned intake capacity was increased up to 60 students per year.
    At present there are total 69 seats which include three additional seats for TFW students and six seats for EWS candidates. Six seats are reserved for lateral entry (ITI pass) students. Part time diploma course in Mechanical Engineering was also started in 1984 with intake capacity of 30 students per year.
    Most of the departmental faculty hold M. Tech degree, along with three with Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering Department was awarded the NBA certificate in 2005 for a duration of 3 years.
    The department has excellent infrastructure and Wi-Fi connectivity, with well equipped laboratories, along with a large workshop. Apart from learning theoretical and practical concepts in mechanical engineering, the students are also exposed to industrial environment through industrial visits/trainings and guest lectures, and also NSS, NCC, cultural and sports events.
    Almost all the passing out students are successfully placed in various government, public sectors and private sector companies through the campus placements. Some of the academically bright students also opt for higher studies.
