About The Information Technology Department
The Department of Information Technology started in the year 2000 with a three years diploma program in Information Technology. The initial intake capacity was for 30 students which has now been increased to 75 in 2023. Students from all parts of the state are attracted to join this diploma program as it is offering quality education with well-equipped lab facilities.
Information Technology (IT) is the application of technology to solve many problems like industrial automation, decision-making, data storage, networking, data organization, and system development. This field of Technology uses computers, networks, data storage, and other latest technical infrastructure both hardware and software, to handle and update information/data. Information Technology (IT) professionals are adept with the latest emerging technologies, arriving at the most optimal solutions to any technical issues that may arise, small-scale or large.
The responsibilities of an Information Technology department are many; professionals follow a combination of policies and processes to ensure IT systems run effectively and are aligned with the organization’s needs, they provide tech support, maintenance, device management, and security testing services.
The department is well-equipped with smart classrooms, and laboratories, along with regular teaching staff and advanced learning processes. Students also get exposure through industrial visits, expert lectures, workshops, and participation in various competitions and exhibitions.

Department endeavors to impart quality education and training to students with emphasis on continuous updating and accommodating latest developments in curriculum so as to prepare students for the current needs in the IT field.
Mission Of Information Technology Department
- M-1. Offer a need-based information technology diploma program in order to prepare student as per the latest trends in the IT field.
- M-2. Provide the best infrastructure, equipment and facilities to achieve excellence in the teaching-learning process.
- M-3. Enhance student's knowledge in the latest technologies by organizing and participating in technical programs.
- M-4. Motivate students to creatively participate and contribute in national IT and digitalization Projects of importance for society such as e-governance, digital India, smart city, etc.
- M-5. Provide a suitable platform to exhibit the creative talents of students and faculty members.
- M-6. Develop an attitude of lifelong learning and inculcate values of ethics, integrity and humanity in staff and students.
Departmental Achievements:-
- Divya Sharma Student of the IT dept. pass out in May /June 2009 got the first
position in the state by uplifting the final year examination and was honored by the
Governor of MP.
- Vikram Singh, IT Student represents the college at BHOPAL CHHTRA PANCHAYAT
organized by Honorable CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
- Netal jaju, Rahul, and Dilip Vishwakarma were the presidents of the student council,
at Ujjain Polytechnic College, Ujjain (MP).
